FilmAid International
Founded in 1999 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, FilmAid uses the power of film and media to transcend language and literacy, bringing life-saving information, psychological relief, and much-needed hope to refugees and other communities in need around the globe. Simultaneously, FilmAid’s Filmmaker Training Program nurtures the development of young artists in film, specifically young refugee filmmakers, so that they are able to develop the necessary skills to build secure livelihoods beyond life in the camps, while also gaining a platform for self-advocacy and creative expression.
